    Well, as we all wait for the temperatures to cool down, and for fall to officially arrive this week, there is no better time to start planning your fall wardrobe, and to start exploring a few new styling options for your fall pieces than now.  One piece that will always be a fall staple is the cardigan.  It’s a piece that can be easily layered, and one that comes in a variety of styles.

    A cardigan is a sophisticated staple that can be styled many ways, but one cool way to style this fall perfect piece is to belt it.  Belting any piece can add additional shape and texture to your look, and belting a cardigan can surely give this piece an added style element, while also adding more appeal to your outfit.  If you have trouble deciding on what type of belt to wear for your body type, in today’s “Style Guide,” I’m sharing a few tips that might help.

    Style Guide:  Tips For Choosing The Best Belt For Your Body Type

    Experiment With Different Widths & Styles – The first way to figure out what suits you best is to try different widths and styles.

    Keep In Mind The General Rule Of Thumb – A medium sized belt about 1-2 inches thick works for most body types.

    If You Have A Long Torso – Try a skinny belt and try placing it about 2 inches below the navel.

    If You Have A Short Torso – Try a wide belt, and choose one close in color to your look to not break up the mid section.

    If You Have A Pear Shape Body Type – Wear a belt that emphasizes your waist, and choose a belt that has a width no larger than 1/2 inch.

    If You Have An Hourglass Body Type – Wear a monochromatic thin belt in dark colors.

    If You Have A Rectangular Body Type – Place a wider belt around the middle of the waist for a slimming effect.

    If You Have An Apple Shape Body Type – Try wearing a medium belt slightly below the waist, and avoid wearing a belt under your bust.

    If You Have An Inverted Triangle Body Type – A wide belt worn on the hip is the perfect compliment to your figure.
