If you read my very first blog post, you are already aware that animal print is one of my favorites. Because I love this classic print so much, I’ve learned a little about the various ways to wear it, and how to effortlessly incorporate it into my wardrobe. Some people may feel animal print is not for them, or they just may not be sure how to wear it. So, here are a few tips I’ve picked up on how to wear animal print gracefully.
Avoid wearing animal print from head to toe – Wearing this print all over can be over done and truly take away from the classic feel and appeal of the print. Instead, pair the print with neutral shades and solid colors that compliment the print nicely and that allow the print to stand out.
Wear animal print as an accessory – If you are not quite ready for a full on animal print clothing item, consider starting with animal print as an accessory. It’s so easy to find animal print accessories (scarves, bags, hats, even jewelry). Wearing the print as an accessory can quickly add a little glam to any outfit, and can ease you in to incorporating the print into your wardrobe.
Consider animal print a neutral – When planning an outfit that includes animal print, consider the print a neutral, and pair it with soft pastels (think pink), and bold bright colors, like orange.
Pair animal print (especially leopard print) with gold – Adding gold to an outfit that includes leopard print, simply adds a little more style to this already stylish print. Depending on where you are wearing the outfit, adding a gold necklace, clutch, or a shoe or bag with gold accents, will surely compliment the print, and elevate your outfit.
Hope these tips are helpful.
