Because of my travel schedule last week, I was unable to share my final post for “A Week of Stripes,”, so today, I’m continuing with stripes and sharing one last post from stripes week.  For this stripes look, I went all out with stripes on stripes.  Now, for those who are unsure about wearing stripes period, stripes on stripes may seem a bit overwhelming initially, but it doesn’t have to be.  Today, I’m sharing ways you can wear this classic print trend, without feeling overdone.

I paired this Zara cropped stripe blazer with the chambray stripe cami and Ann Taylor linen beach ankle pants for a day of meetings and errands.  The blazer was perfect for the somewhat business casual meetings.  I added my Ivanka Trump Cara pointed toe pumps and Rebecca Minkoff mini quilted affair bag for a more polished look.  With many errands to run after the meeting, I was able to easily take off the jacket and wear the cami alone with the pants on a very warm day.  Layering jackets over cami’s are perfect this time of year, because to me, it allows the outfit to transition well from one activity to another.  Because doubling up on stripes may seem a bit much for some, in today’s “Style Guide,” I’m sharing ways to wear stripes on stripes.

Style Guide:  How To Wear Stripes On Stripes

1.  Go Simple and Chic – Pair a striped tee under a bold striped coat, jacket or blazer.

2.  Be Bold With The Stripe Trend – Pair different colored stripes on the top and bottom.  To be comfortable with this look, start by pairing a neutral stripe on top, with a pastel stripe on bottom.

3. Mix Bold and Classic Stripes – Pair a bold colored stripe top with a classic black and white stripe bottom.

4.  Wear Two Striped Pieces of the Same Color – Try pairing a black and white stripe top with a black and white stripe bottom.  When wearing this trend it’s best to keep thinner stripes on the top and thicker stripes on the bottom to keep the look balanced and in proportion.

I hope these tips have inspired you to try stripes on stripes.  You can shop the items in this post by clicking the links above in “The Look” and “The Look For Less,” or you can visit the Shop Fashion Page here.  Also, you can shop Lulu With Grace partner sales and promotions here.  New partner sales and promotions have been added.
