Today, I am kicking off “Make Me… Blush” week, as all this week on the blog I will be featuring items in the color blush. The color blush has a variety of tones, but to me it is a shade of one of my most favorite colors, pink. I have worn the blush color on my blog a few times, and this week, I will be sharing a few items that are variations of the color blush.
Blush is such a perfect color for this time of year, because it is soft and fresh, and works well for any spring/summer wardrobe item. I found this Ann Taylor floral cardigan, and paired it with the ultimate girly tulle skirt from Lulu’s. I love pairing any shade of pink with grey for a very cool and classic color pallet. I accessorized with the ASOS Signed For Pointed Toe heels, and my Rebecca Minkoff quilted crossbody bag to complete the look.
Now, there is something about a tulle skirt that appeals to many women…Whether it’s your childhood memories of your ballerina days, or just the longing for something very feminine and classic in your wardrobe, the great thing is that tulle skirts are all the rage now. You will see them on runways, and in magazines, and if you think you might want to try this skirt style on you, here are a few styling tips in today’s “Style Guide.”
Style Guide: Tips For Wearing Tulle
Go Casual Chic – If the frilly, girly styling of tulle is just not your thing, try pairing it with a casual t-shirt and a pair of studded flats to add a little edge.
Try Soft and Feminine – If you’re in the mood for a little daintiness, or if you have an occasion or event that you want to try the soft side of tulle as I did, pair it with a lace or floral sweater or top, for an all over feminine look and feel.
Show Off Your Hipster Style – Try a more modern and hip take on tulle by pairing the skirt with a crop top, or go for a bright colored tulle skirt. You can even find them in neon colors.
Street Style It – Add a little everyday look and feel to your tulle skirt by pairing it with a denim shirt or an everyday top. Add some ballerina flats or a simple strappy sandal for a look that can take you anywhere, any time.
I hope these tips will get you thinking about your ideal style for wearing a tulle skirt. They are a fun and great piece to have in your wardrobe, because they can be styled in any way that suits your desired look for the day.
