Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and you’re excited about the new year. I’ve always loved the start of a new year, there’s something about leaving the previous year behind, and getting a fresh new start. Although, I enjoy looking back on my successes and failures of the past year and using what I learned from them in the new year, I also look forward to having a clean slate, and reveling in all the positive hope and promise of the year ahead.
2016 was a great year for me and my family personally, my husband and I traveled to some amazing places in Italy (Rome, Florence, Tuscany and Venice), places we have wanted to visit for quite some time, I’ve had the opportunity to see my son, Brocke, excel in his college basketball career, and I’ve learned so much about blogging, watched my blog grow, and met some amazing people along my blogging journey, and I can’t help but be grateful. This year, instead of focusing on making resolutions, I’ve decided to simply have a few intentions for 2017. For me, the word resolution comes with a little pressure and seems somewhat inflexible, and, intentions feel slightly more positive and optimistic and suits my personality. My intentions this year are focused on family, my personal lifestyle, and my blog. and today I’m sharing a few of my new year’s intentions with you.
A Few Of My Family Intentions:
Start A Weekly Family Ritual – With my son 4,000 miles away in college at the University of Hawaii, it’s important for us to stay as connected as possible, and although I talk to him briefly everyday, this year, I am planning to start a weekly Sunday family facetime session with him.
Implement A No Phone Zone – My husband and I are fortunate that we get to visit my son throughout the year, and since that time is so precious, I plan to at least have a no phone zone when we have dinner together. This will make sure we are all present during this quality time together.
Have A Family Healthy Eating Plan – Again, this one will be a little challenging with my son away in college, but if we at least establish a healthy eating plan together, set some expectations, and check in with each other often, I am hopeful it can be successful.
A Few Of My Personal Lifestyle Intentions:
Find More Ways To Give Back – I feel that I am truly blessed, and I would like to find more ways to give back and help others this year.
Stop And Smell The Roses – Life can be so busy and hectic at times, and I think it’s important to take some time to appreciate your life and the people in it. I intend to try to slow down a little this year to make sure I smell the roses.
Continue And Enhance My Personal Fitness Routine – I want to continue and stick to my current fitness routine, while also looking for ways to enhance and improve my level of fitness.
A Few Of My Blog Intentions:
Share More Personal Posts And Stories On My Blog – This year I’m hoping to get a little more personal on my blog and in my blog posts, and share more of my personal experiences.
Connect Even More With My Readers And Followers – In 2017, I plan to engage more with my readers and followers. I hope to get to know you all better, and in turn allow you to get to know me better.
Enhance And Expand My Blog Content – One of my blog goals is to always have fresh and interesting content, so this year, I’m committed to enhancing and expanding my content to ensure that it is always helpful in some way to my readers.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this quick glimpse into my 2017 intentions, and hopefully they can inspire you to set a few of your own.
