Culottes have definitely been one of my go to pant styles this fall and winter. There are so many things I love about culottes, so needless to say, when they appeared on runways and in fashion magazines as a style staple for the season, I was beyond ecstatic. For me, culottes are the cool, sort of laid back pants that can quickly add a stylish twist any desk to dinner look.
For this outfit, I paired my camel J. Crew Patio Pants with my gray Loft Coatigan, and my Banana Republic Merino Wool Pullover Sweater. I added my GB Fired Up Dress Sandals, and my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Quilted Affair bag to accessorize the look. I really enjoyed styling this camel color with another one of my favorite neutrals, gray. It was a different color combo for me, and I think it truly represents my clean and classic style. These culottes are perfect for this time of year, and can even take you into spring. I love that they can be worn slightly dressed with a blazer or sweater coat, or more casual with a denim jacket or cropped bomber. I realize that those with petite body types may feel they can’t quite pull off a culotte because of the length, and where this pant style stops on the leg, but it’s truly all in the styling. For a petite person, it’s important that you style a culotte with a heel instead of a flat to elongate the legs and the look, and wear a more structured top to streamline the look and not overwhelm the upper body.
