Shoes: Ann Taylor Lace Up Peep Toe Bootie (Sold Out); Similar here (Now On Sale)
Although, the weather where I am can’t seem to make up its mind on the season it wants to exhibit, with temperatures fluctuating from cold winter temps to warmer spring days, there have definitely been enough cold weather days to wear a little fur, faux fur that is. There are many reasons faux fur has become so popular, and there are just as many reasons why people choose faux fur over the real thing, but whatever the reason, you can be certain that adding any faux fur piece (coat, hat, scarf, etc.,) to your look will be both chic and stylish.
I personally have always had an affinity to fur clothing items, so when I found this Nantes Faux-Fur Car Coat, it was a must have for me. I will definitely pair this coat with everything from dresses, skirts and jumpsuits, to pants and leggings, but for this look I styled it with more everyday casual pieces. I paired the coat with my BR Modal Crew Tee, and my GAP Stretch 1969 Perfect Boot Jeans. I added my Ann Taylor Lace Up Peep Toe Booties, and my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Quilted Affair bag. I love this faux fur coat because of it’s quality and style. It’s definitely well made, and it can be worn with black, gray, white/off white, and any shade of blue. If you’re looking to add some faux fur to your wardrobe, in today’s “Style Guide”, I’m sharing a few tips for choosing faux fur.
Style Guide: Tips For Choosing Faux Fur
Don’t Buy Faux Fur Based On Price – With faux fur, price does not always mean quality. Choose faux fur pieces that are well put together, and sold by brands and stores your trust.
Don’t Invest In Fun Fur Pieces Like Neon Colors – Unless the occasion or an event calls for this type of faux fur, avoid buying fun fur. Buying neon colored fur pieces limits their wearability and your styling options.
Look For Subtle Variations In Fur Strand Color – Like human hair, animal fur is rarely all one color. Variations in strand color usually signifies a more real look faux fur.
Look For Touches Of Silver And White Strands On Black Faux Fur – This more closely resembles real fur.
Look For Hints Of Red And Blonde In Brown Or Beige Faux Fur – This is what you will typically see in real fur pieces of this color.
I hope these “Style Guide” tips can be of some help to you when purchasing faux fur.
